It's early in the recruiting process, and Monrovia defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy clearly has indicated not too much beyond the fact that he's taking five official visits: the USC Trojans, Oregon Ducks, Washington Huskies, California Golden Bears, and Florida Gators. But he might have given another crucial hint as to who he might be liking the most right now.
According to Kevin Carden of Scout, McCarthy's best relationships are currently established with USC defensive line coach and ace recruiter Ed Orgeron, and Cal defensive line coach and ace recruiter Tosh Lupoi. Both the Trojans and Golden Bears have a penchant for putting defensive linemen in the NFL, and both Orgeron and Lupoi are known for their passion on the recruiting trail, so it could be that another team might sneak into the mix, but it's starting to look like there's a top two in the pecking order, with the other three schools already deep in the hole in this race.
