It was a nail biter at the Coliseum Saturday night as the USC Trojans came oh so close to knocking off their Pac-12 rivals the Stanford Cardinal in overtime. That game gave Stanford a little boost in the USA Today/Coaches poll this week as there was a lot of Pac-12 action involved in the poll.
Stanford remained No. 3 in the poll after sneaking past the Trojans, rounding out the top five with LSU and Alabama at No. 1 and 2 respectfully, followed by Oklahoma State and No. 4 and Boise State at No. 5. The Oregon Ducks moved up a spot to No. 6, while Arizona State moved up two spots to No. 18 this week. Washington remained right outside the polls, receiving 38 votes.
Clemson and Kansas State took the biggest hits this weeks after stunning losses for both schools, moving Clemson from No. 6 to No. 12, and Kansas State from No. 12 to No. 19. On the other hand, Georgia Tech and Texas used big Week 9 victories to move back into the top 25, while Texas Tech and Texas A&M fell out of the polls completely this week.
