The USC Trojans will be without freshman wide receiver turned tailback George Farmer on Saturday night as they battle the undefeated and fourth-ranked Stanford Cardinal at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Farmer has battled an ankle injury all week. Per the school's athletic department:
USC RB George Farmer is in a walking boot. He is OUT for the game.
Farmer had only played in two games, carrying the ball five times for 15 yards, and caught two passes for 23 yards. Farmer also returned three kickoffs for a total of 59 yards. Considered one of the fastest Trojans if not the fastest, Farmer's speed has made him a growing part of the team. He was converted from wide receiver to tailback to find more ways to get him the ball. Farmer has a personal best of 10.4 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 21.22 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
Saturday's 5 p.m. PDT game will be televised nationally by ABC. For more on USC Football, check out Conquest Chronicles.
