USC Basketball: DeWayne Dedmon Practices With Broken Hand

DeWayne Dedmon is a tough kid. If that was ever in doubt before Friday, it will not be anymore. According to reports, Dedmon actually practiced with a broken hand in the team's first official practice.

Michael Lev at the OC Register tweets an update:

#USC F Dewayne Dedmon practiced tonight with a cast on his right hand. Had bubble wrap over cast, and tape over bubble wrap.

Pretty amazing. Many believed it would take months for Dedmon to return to the court and he did it just a few days after breaking his hand.

Safety will obviously be the primary concern for head coach Kevin O'Neil, his coaching staff and the players, but Dedmon must have been feeling pretty well to be up for practicing today. While it appears the forward will avoid any drills with heavy contact, it is still great to see him participating and staying in shape once he can make his return in a few months.
