USC Loses To Oregon St, Gets Swept In Oregon

Corvallis, OR (Sports Network) - Jared Cunningham tallied 24 points and the Oregon State Beavers slipped past the USC Trojans, 80-76, in Pac-10 Conference action at Gill Coliseum. Omari Johnson had a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds for OSU (8-9, 3-3 Pac-10), which brought an end to its three-game losing skid. Lathen Wallace also scored 12 points in the win, while Clavin Haynes chipped in 11 behind a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from the floor.

Nikola Vucevic put forth a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Trojans (10-8, 2-3), who dropped their second game in a row. Jio Fontan added 14 points and six assists, while Maurice Jones netted 10 points. The Beavers shot an efficient 52.0 percent from the floor in the opening half and they went into the locker room with a 37-27 advantage.

Over the final 20 minutes, OSU went 19-of-29 at the foul line to hang on for the four-point decision. The Beavers outscored USC at the foul line, 27-7, and that made the biggest difference in the outcome.
