USC Moves Up In AP Poll For First Time All Season

New, 1 comment

The only direction the USC Trojans had gone in the Associated Press poll during the first few weeks of the season was down. But, for the first time this season, USC has moved up in the AP poll, climbing from 20th to 18th.

The earlier movement downward was deserved, even though the Trojans were 3-0 they really had yet to play an impressive game. They began the year ranked 14th, but moved down two spots each week after a win, to 16th, 18th, then 20th. Because they are on NCAA probation and are ineligible for a bowl this season, USC is not eligible for the USA Today coaches poll.

Texas, which got drubbed at home by UCLA, plummeted from 7th to 21st.

USC hosts the Washington Huskies next Saturday at 5 p.m., at the Coliseum.
