USC Vs. UCLA Game Recap: Trojans Win Fourth Straight Over Bruins

Pasadena, CA (Sports Network) - Allen Bradford rushed for 212 yards and hauled in a touchdown pass as well to power the USC Trojans to a 28-14 victory over the UCLA Bruins in the season finale for both Pac-10 Conference teams. Matt Barkley threw for 198 yards and a score for USC (8-5, 5-4 Pac-10), which is ineligible for a bowl bid because of NCAA sanctions. Jonathan Franklin ran for 109 yards and a score in defeat for UCLA (4-8, 2-7).

USC took a 7-0 lead with just under five minutes remaining in the first quarter on a five-yard touchdown pass from Dillon Baxter to Rhett Ellison. Less than a minute later, the Bruins tied the score on a 59-yard touchdown scamper by Franklin. The only points of the second quarter came on a 68-yard fumble return for a touchdown by USC's Malcolm Smith, and because neither team was able notch points in the third quarter, the Trojans entered the final frame with a 14-7 advantage.

In that fourth quarter, Bradford caught a 47-yard touchdown pass from Barkley and exploded for a 73-yard scoring scamper as well, pushing his team's advantage to 28-7. The Bruins managed a 10-yard touchdown pass from Richard Brehaut to Joseph Fauria with only 23 seconds remaining to cap the scoring. Three hours before the game began, a brawl erupted in the Rose Bowl parking lot between fans of the Trojans and Bruins. Two men were stabbed and two police officers suffered minor injuries.
