Colorado Buffaloes’ forward Andre Roberson cut through the Utah Utes’ defense for 20 points on nine shot attempts as he led his team to win their first tournament game during their first season in the Pac-12, 53-41.
The Utes are one of the worst teams in the nation, but kept up with the Buffaloes in the first half ending the half down two.
Utah center Jason Washburn scored 11 points to lead the Utes in scoring, but that was on 13 shot attempts. No other player from Utah scored more than 10 points.
Both teams shot ugly from the floor with each team making only 35 percent of their shots. The Buffaloes did get to the line more than the Utes and shot at a higher percentage clip at the charity stripe.
The Buffs will face No. 3 Oregon Ducks tomorrow at 8:30 p.m.
