The No. 7 Stanford Cardinal played more like the team they were in the first half of the season on Wednesday night in the opening round of the 2012 Pac-12 Tournament at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Cardinal were on fire in the first half, especially from long range, and lead the No. 10 seed Arizona St. Sun Devils 50-30 at halftime.
Chasson Randle scored a whopping 27 points in the first half to lead Stanford, nearly outscoring the Sun Devils on his own. Randle made six of his eight field goals, including five of six three-pointers, and made 10 of 12 free throws. Stanford shot 44.4% (four of nine) from two-point range in the first half, but shot 60% (nine for 15) from beyond the arc.

Aaron Bright added nine points for the Cardinal, making three shots from three-point range.
Jordan Bachynski led Arizona State with eight points in the opening half. The Sun Devils shot 47.6% from the field. The winner of this game advances to play the No. 2 California Golden Bears on Thursday.
