Pac-12 Basketball Tournament 2012: Washington State, No. 8 Seed

The 2012 Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament gets underway on Wednesday afternoon at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Here is a look at the Washington St. Cougars, who faltered in conference play but managed a .500 overall record. They will enter as the No. 8 seed in the tournament.

Team: Washington State Cougars

Head Coach: Ken Bone, third season at WSU

2011-2012 Record: 15-15, 7-11 in conference

Tournament Seed: 8

First Round Opponent: No. 9 seed Oregon St. Beavers

Season vs. Opponent: The Cougars defeated the Beavers during both regular-season matchups (81-76, 83-73), which is why the Cougars enter the tournament as the No. 8 seed, although both teams hold a 7-11 conference record.

Leading Scorer: Brock Motum, averaging 18.1 points per game. He is shooting 54.9 percent from the floor this season.

Leading Rebounder: Motum is doing it all for the Cougars, also leading the team in boards with 6.5 rebounds per game.

2011 Pac-12 Tournament Finish: WSU entered last year's tournament as the No. 6 seed and earned a bye, but lost their first game against No. 3 seed Washington, 89-87.
