The Washington State Cougars used an 11-4 run to take a 34-29 halftime lead over the UCLA Bruins on Saturday afternoon at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman, Washington. Brock Motum scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds in the first half to lead Washington State, who shot 45.5% from the field. Motum made six of 10 field goals, including two of three from three-point range.
UCLA again got good production out of center Joshua Smith, who scored 11 points and made all five field goals in the first half. The rest of the Bruins made just six of 23 shots from the field (26.1%). The Bruins led 25-23 with 4:29 remaining in the first half before Washington State made their run.
The Bruins have won 18 straight games in Pullman, with their last road loss to Washington State coming on February 6, 1993.
