The UCLA Bruins look for a season sweep of the USC Trojans on Wednesday night as the two crosstown rivals battle at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. UCLA drubbed USC 66-47 on January 15 at Galen Center, the largest margin of victory for UCLA over USC on the road since 1974.
The Trojans (6-20, 1-12 in the Pac-12 Conference) have lost four straight games, 13 of their last 14 and 16 of their last 18 contests. USC is likely to finish with its worst record in school history.
UCLA (14-11, 7-6) had its 10-game home winning streak snapped on Saturday against Cal, but the Bruins are 11-4 at home this season, while the Trojans are just 1-8 on the road. Lazeric Jones, the Bruins' leading scorer this season at 13.8 points per game, scored 15 points in UCLA's win against USC on January 15.
Bruins center Anthony Stover has tendonitis in his left foot that kept him out of the Cal game on Saturday. Stover returned to practice briefly on Monday and was able to practice in full on Tuesday. He is listed as probable for UCLA on Wednesday.
Maurice Jones, who has played 987 of a possible 1050 minutes (94%) this season for USC, scored 13 points against UCLA on January 15, but was the only Trojan in double figures as USC shot 36.0% from the field and were outrebounded 44-19 by the Bruins.
Wednesday night's 7:30 p.m. PST game will be televised by Prime Ticket. For more news and information on local Pac-12 college basketball, be sure to read Bruins Nation and Conquest Chronicles.
