UCLA already has one of the top football recruiting classes in the country, but the Bruins' class got a little better Friday as UCLA landed a verbal commitment from offensive lineman Alex Redmond.
Redmond, who is from Los Alamitos, Calif., is considered to be one of the top high school offensive line prospects in the country. He's rated as a 4-star recruit by both Scout.com and Rivals.com. Redmond's verbal commitment comes after UCLA head coach Jim Mora and offensive line coach Adrian Klemm visited Redmond Friday night.
The addition of Redmond means UCLA now has 19 verbal commitments for the 2013 recruiting class. Redmond's addition bolsters what was already a deep recruiting class for offensive lineman. With Redmond in the fold, UCLA now has six verbal commitments from offensive lineman. The Bruins now have nine 4-star commitments, according to Scout.com.
Redmond verbally committed to Oregon in July before de-committing in mid November. He chose UCLA over a number of offers, including several schools in the Pac-12.
