A second straight loss in the Pac-12 Championship Game might have been a disappointing end to an otherwise renewed season under first-year coach Jim Mora for the UCLA Bruins, but UCLA will get its chance to finish the season on a strong note against the Baylor Bears in the Holiday Bowl.
The meeting between the Big 12 and Pac-12 schools will take place as part of the 35th edition of this bowl, which also features a Baylor team that showed it could score even without quarterback Robert Griffin III.
UCLA will be looking for its first 10-win season since 2005, while Baylor will aim for its eighth victory of the season and fourth in a row to close out the year.
The Bruins are led by quarterback Brett Hundley, who, in his freshman season, passed for nearly 3,500 yards and 26 touchdowns. Bruins running back Johnathan Franklin rushed for 1,700 yards and 13 TDs on the year.
Baylor's Nick Florence has helmed a still-dangerous Bears offense, as Florence passed for 31 touchdowns and more than 4,000 yards in 2012. Lache Seastrunk leads the team with 874 rushing yards.
