The college football world will be focused on Los Angeles on Saturday, as both USC and UCLA play games with major postseason implications.
National title contenders around the country will be rooting for USC, as the Trojans host No. 1 Notre Dame. If the Fighting Irish win, they will book their ticket to the national championship game. Although a recent rough patch knocked USC out of the BCS bowl picture, the Trojans can still play spoiler on Saturday. They will, however, have to do it with a freshman quarterback, as Max Wittek will make his first collegiate start in place of the injured Matt Barkley.
The Bruins will also host a top-10 opponent, as No. 8 Stanford comes to town. The game could be a preview of the Pac-12 Championship game, depending on the result. UCLA has already clinched its spot in the conference championship match, and Stanford would win the Pac-12 North with a win or an Oregon loss.
