The UCLA Bruins might have one of the most intimidating frontcourts in college basketball this season, but they need guards to go along with them, and it's not clear who the starters will be yet. Jerime Anderson was likely slated to be one of the starting guards (most likely at point), but he stole a laptop this summer, and this tends to mean serious punishment.
Head coach Ben Howland told ESPN's Andy Katz says Anderson will sit out a few games this season. Here is UCLA's starting schedule.
11/11/11: vs. Loyola Marymount in LA Sports Arena
11/15/11: vs. Middle Tennessee State in LA Sports Arena (Maui Invitational Opener)
11/21/11: vs. Chaminade in Lahaina Civic Center (Maui Invitational)
11/22/11: vs. Kansas/Georgetown in Lahaina Civic Center (Maui Invitational)
11/23/11: vs. TBD in Lahiana Civic Center (Maui Invitational)
11/28/11: vs. Pepperdine in LA Sports Arena
12/03/11: vs. Texas in LA Sports Arena
I'd guess Anderson wouldn't be suspended any longer than four or five games, so expect him back sometime before or after the Maui Invitational. I'd be willing to be he's back in time for the Texas game. Until then, Lazeric Jones and Tyler Lamb should do enough to cover for him.
