After dealing with the riffraff that is the bottom seeds of day one of the 2011 Pac-10 Conference Basketball Tournament, the action at Staples Center gets into full swing on Thursday. There are four games on the docket for today's quarterfinal round. Here is a look at today's schedule, with all games televised on Fox Sports West (all times are PST):
12 p.m. -- No. 4 USC Trojans vs. No. 5 California Golden Bears: It's a shame that the best game of the day takes place while everyone is at work. USC and Cal split two meetings this year, with each team winning close games on the road.
2:30 p.m. -- No. 1 Arizona Wildcats vs. No. 9 Oregon St. Beavers: The Beavers won last night against Stanford, and their reward is to face the well-rested regular season conference champs. Both teams won at home in their series this year.
6 p.m. -- No. 2 UCLA Bruins vs. No. 7 Oregon Ducks: The Bruins have beaten the Ducks twice this season, and look to do so for a third time in the first game of the night session. Oregon beat Arizona St. last night to advance.
8:30 p.m. -- No. 3 Washington Huskies vs. No. 6 Washington St. Cougars: The prime time game happens to be the only rivalry game on the schedule. The Huskies, preseason favorites to win the conference, ended up in third place, thanks largely to their two losses to Washington State. This is a matchup of suspensions, as Venoy Overton is out for the entire tournament, while Klay Thompson of Washington State has been reinstated after serving a one-game suspension over the weekend.
