So maybe this National Signing Day isn't going to be so bad after all for the Bruins. UCLA just landed a pretty big prospect (literally and metaphorically) in D.C. native Kevin McReynolds.
Kevin McReynolds picks #UCLA, bright spot in an otherwise rough class.
McReynolds is a four star recruit (according to Rivals) from St. John's College High in Washington D.C., and should help bolster the UCLA defensive line immediately. I actually interviewed McReynolds last week for a piece about the state of his recruiting on Washington Post.com. You can find it here. This is what he had to say about UCLA.
I like UCLA because, well, the weather is tremendous, it's a place I can go in there an play early, and the education is awesome.
McReynolds is 6-foot-2, 281 pounds, and plays with excellent athleticism for his size. He is still recovering from an ankle injury which cost him a large portion of his senior season. That might have been the reason that he fell down some recruiting rankings. But other school's loss is UCLA's gain.
