UCLA Vs. Stanford Basketball Score Update: Lazeric Jones Scores 14 Points, Bruins Trail 24-23 At Haltime

It's a Pac-12 showdown as the Stanford Cardinal host the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins are hoping to improve on their 7-5 record, but the 10-2 Cardinal are no pushover. Stanford is 7-1 when playing at home. After a wild final few minutes of the first half, the Bruins trail by a score of 24-23.

UCLA led the game by grabbing a 4-0 lead over the Cardinal. Things went south for the team in a hurry, as Stanford opened up an 18-7 lead. The Stanford control contained a brutal stretch where the Bruins went over nine minutes without making a single field goal. They managed to straighten things out a bit after that. Bruins guard Lazeric Jones in particular went on a tear, scoring six points in under five minutes.

The Bruins were able to cut the Stanford lead down to 24-23 with just over 2:00 remaining in the half. Norman Powell grabbed a rebound and drove for a layup and the lead, but missed. Lazeric Jones grabbed a steal on a bad pass from John Gage, but missed his shot and sent the ball out of bounds. A series of rapid-fire rebounds and steals by both teams in the final seconds all came up empty, with the score remaining 24-23 as the game went to halftime.

Jones has 14 points and three rebounds. He leads all scorers.
