Jim Mora's Coup Of DB Ishmael Adams Causes Major Buzz

Jim Mora's presence is being felt on the West Coast.

After already getting commitments from Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter High School linebacker Kenny Orjioke, Arcadia wide receiver Taylor Lagace and Elk Grove Oaks defensive back Marcus Rios in the past two week, Mora's scoop of Westlake Village Oaks Christian's Ishmael Adams is further proof that Mora means business.

With Notre Dame, Arizona State and Cal all after the 5-foot-10, 185 pound Adams, he chose the UCLA Bruins.

Here's what he told the Los Angeles Times.

"UCLA just felt right," Adams said. "I felt calm after making my decision. You can get a great education. I can be near home, so my family can see me play. I want to help change the program."

Everyone thought Cal was the first choice and UCLA's coaching change was seen more as a hindrance than a plus. That changed, as Adams told ESPN's Ted Miller.

After the coaching change, I didn't think much about UCLA, but I really like Coach Mora a lot and I like Demetrice Martin a lot as well. He's a good coach, and I know he'll make me better.

According to Miller, Adams is one of 22 commitments to UCLA and is the second with a four-star rating.
