Ishmael Adams, UCLA Bruins Football Recruiting Commitment

Ishmael Adams is a Westlake Village cornerback and perhaps one of the best defensive backs on the West Coast; he ranks right up there with Tee Shepard, Brandon Beaver and Kevon Seymour among the best cover corners in all of California.

Adams has made a surprise move in his recruiting process. Rumored to be favoring the California Golden Bears for the last few weeks, the Oaks Christian defensive back has committed to the UCLA Bruins. Adams joins Marcus Rios and probably helps to form one of the best one-two punches in the Pac-12 with regards to secondary recruiting.

Greg Biggins of ESPN has more ($).

"I just committed to UCLA," Adams said. "I prayed about this decision really hard and made a pros and cons list for both schools. When I weighed everything against each other, UCLA came out on top. Academically, I like what UCLA offers, the proximity to home was important and the biggest thing was being able to be a part of changing a program around versus just being a part of a program.

Jim Mora appears to be making some positive moves for the Bruins in recruiting. His experience as a defensive backs coach in the NFL probably made a big impression on the Southern California product, who had long liked the Bruins early in the process.
