UCLA Vs. Arizona St. Game Score: Bruins Trail 7-6 After First Quarter

The UCLA Bruins had a solid rushing effort with 81 yards on the ground in the opening 12 minutes, but a missed extra point is the difference so far. The Arizona St. Sun Devils lead the Bruins 7-6 after the first quarter quarter at the Rose Bowl in the Pac-12 South Division showdown.

Kevin Prince, who rushed for 163 yards in last week's win over Cal, had two long runs during the opening drive. Prince ran for 27 yards on 3rd-and-4, then followed that up with another 21-yard run out of the option on the very next play. Johnathan Franklin ran for 22 yards of his own on that first drive, including getting to the outside for an 11-yard touchdown run to the left pylon.

Unfortunately for the Bruins, kicker Tyler Gonzalez pushed the extra point wide right. It was the fifth extra point missed by the Bruins this year, tied with the Arizona Wildcats for most in the conference.

Junior wide receiver A.J. Pickens, a graduate of Don Lugo High School in Chino, caught a crossing pattern from Brock Osweiler and took it 36 yards into the end zone and a lead for the Sun Devils.
