UCLA Football vs. WSU Injury Report: Sheldon Price, Alex Mascarenas Not Expected To Play

UCLA Bruins head coach Rick Neuheisel really has to shake things up to get his moribund defense in order, and he might be making a crucial move.  Chris Foster of the Los Angeles Times with the reports.

  • The talented but disappointing Datone Jones is moving down in the lineup, and Owamagbe Odighizuwa is back playing with the first team at defensive end. Jones has had trouble mustering any tackles as the UCLA starter, and could use a change. Owa certainly has the talent to be more than capable for the Bruins on their defensive line.
  • Safety Alex Mascarenas (concussion) and Sheldon Price (knee) have not practiced. They are not expected to suit up, which should give Marshall Lobbestael a big impetus to throw downfield on Saturday.
  • Tyler Gonzalez could be used for shorter kicks, like extra points and field goals. Jeff Locke would retain kickoff and longer kick duties.
  • Offensive guard Albert Cid is suiting up with the first team. Chris Ward did not practice.
