UCLA Beats Fiesty Arizona St In Overtime, 73-72

Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - Lazeric Jones scored 18 points as the UCLA Bruins shaded the Arizona State Sun Devils, 73-72, in a Pac-10 game at Wells-Fargo Arena. Reeves Nelson scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Bruins (14-7, 6-3 Pac-10) who have won five out of six. Tyler Honeycutt added 12 points and 10 boards. Malcolm Lee also scored 12 points, while Joshua Smith finished with 10.

Trent Lockett scored 17 points for the Sun Devils (9-12, 1-8) who have lost five straight and seven of eight. UCLA led 32-19 at halftime after the Sun Devils struggled to a 6-of-30 effort from the floor in the first 20 minutes. UCLA led by 15 early in the second half, but Arizona State rallied to force a 61-61 tie at the end of regulation. Trent Lockett scored on a putback for the Sun Devils off a missed foul shot with 23 seconds left to force the extra period,

UCLA never trailed in the overtime and led by seven at one point. Arizona State was just 3-of-9 from the floor in overtime including 1-of-5 from long range.
