UCLA Wins 67-59, Gives Oregon First Loss At Matthew Knight Arena

Eugene, OR (Sports Network) - Malcolm Lee scored a game-high 18 points, leading four players in double figures, as the UCLA Bruins picked up a 67-59 win over the Oregon Ducks in a Pac-10 Conference clash at the new Matthew Knight Arena. Also scoring in double digits in the second straight win for the Bruins (11-6, 3-2 Pac-10) were Joshua Smith and Jerime Anderson with 15 points apiece, followed by Lazeric Jones with 12. Tyler Honeycutt contributed a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Ducks (8-10, 1-5) were paced by E.J. Singler with 15 points and Jeremy Jacob with 12 as they dropped their seventh game in the last eight outings. Oregon led by as many as 12 points with just under six minutes remaining in the first half, but the team ended up shooting just 36.4 percent from the floor in the period which allowed UCLA to fight back and draw to within three points at the break, 27-24.

In the second half the Bruins knocked down an impressive 55.6 percent from the floor in taking the eight-point decision. UCLA, which shot an even 50 percent from the floor in the meeting, survived 18 turnovers as Oregon cashed in just 11 points on those miscues.
