Before the season began, Blake Griffin made the comment that it would soon be Lob City as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. It might have been youthful exuberance, but the Clippers are definitely starting to rock it up behind the efforts of Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, and the Slam Master himself.

After the jump, highlights of Blake, CP3, and DeAndre going at it in amazing fashion.

On this first pass, it's Mo Williams doing the lobbing up for Blake as Griffin swim moves past his man and goes skyward to the hoop.

Then CP3 takes his turn running the fastbreak on what becomes a spectacular alley-oop to Griffin.

(via NBA)

Finally, Paul seems to draw all the attention to Griffin before slowing it down and running a precise alley-oop right up to Jordan for another spectacular finish.

Chauncey Billups is listed as a game-time decision with a sore right groin.

Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers look for their second consecutive win on Wednesday night as they continue their homestand against the Houston Rockets at Staples Center. The Clippers (2-2) are in the midst of a four-game run at home and have split the first two games. The team was 23-18 at Staples Center last season.

Chauncey Billups, who has missed the last two games with a sore right groin, is listed as a game-time decision for Wednesday, but said on Monday that he expects to play against the Rockets, per Arash Markazi of ESPN LA. Billups last played on December 28 at San Antonio, a full week ago.

The Rockets are playing at Staples Center for the second straight night, as they lost 108-99 to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. Center Andrew Bynum went off on the undersized Rockets for 21 points and 22 rebounds. Griffin could have a similar big night on Wednesday. Griffin had four double-doubles in four games against Houston last season, averaging 17.8 points and 13.3 boards in the process.

Chris Paul has had a fine first four games with the Clippers, averaging 15.5 points, 9.8 assists, and 2.50 steals per contest through four games this season. Paul is third in the NBA in assists, and the man who is first is Kyle Lowry of Houston, who is averaging 11.0 assists per game. Lowry narrowly missed a triple-double on Tuesday against the Lakers, with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.

The Clippers lost three of four games to the Rockets last season. Houston (2-3) is undefeated at home this season and winless on the road in the early going.

Jones will likely serve as nothing more than a warm body on the bench and in practice.

The Los Angeles Clippers were looking to solidify their depth among the front court and the team did so on Thursday with the signing of free agent big man Solomon Jones. The details of the contract were not released, although the deal is likely around the league minimum.

A second-round pick (33rd overall) of the Atlanta Hawks in the 2006 NBA Draft, the 6-foot-10 Jones has played for Atlanta and Indiana in his five-year career, according to this press release out of L.A.. In 39 games with the Pacers last season, Jones averaged 3.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in 13.5 minutes. The 27-year old Jones has appeared in 247 career games, making 10 starts and bringing career averages of 3.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.6 blocks to the Clippers. Jones has appeared in 16 playoff games with Atlanta in 2008 and 2009.

Through the first few weeks of the season, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan have done a solid job for the Clippers. Brian Cook has done a solid job off the bench and is averaging a little more than 13 minutes a game. Outside of these three, though, Los Angeles basically has no other serviceable options to play in the paint. If worst came to worst, Jones would at least provide the coaching staff a big man to throw onto the court for a few minutes, especially with Reggie Evans continuing to recover from a sprained right foot.

Not a huge move for the Clippers, but it's probably a smart one.
