<p>That wasn't the ending the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.jewelsfromthecrown.com/">Los Angeles Kings</a> expected. Up 2-0 entering the third period and 2-1 with under a minute remaining in regulation, the Kings somehow found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-2 overtime decision to the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.defendingbigd.com/">Dallas Stars</a> Wednesday night at American Airlines Arena.</p>
<p>The Kings and Stars are now tied in the Pacific Division with 26 points, currently in first place but one point ahead of the San Jose <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.fearthefin.com/">Sharks</a>, who are battling the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.secondcityhockey.com/">Chicago Blackhawks</a> Wednesday night.</p>
<p>Loui Erikkson scored the equalizing goal with just 21 seconds left in the third period, assisted by <span>Jamie Benn</span> and <span>Michael Ryder</span>. <span>Steve Ott</span> scored the game-winner at 2:56 of overtime.</p>
<p>The Kings led 2-0 entering the final period thanks to goals by <span>Mike Richards</span> and <span>Kevin Westgarth</span>, but they weren't able to hold the lead. <a target="_blank" href="http://twitter.com/LAKings/statuses/139557597257805824">Rob Scuderi after the game said</a>, "It's simple...you have to keep your foot on the gas pedal to win in this league." Goaltender <span>Jonathan Quick</span> saved 35 of 38 shots in defeat.</p>
<p>The Kings return home to face the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday night at Staples Center.</p>

<p>The Kings beat the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.stlouisgametime.com/">St. Louis Blues</a> 3-2 Tuesday night, with backup goaltender <span>Jonathan Bernier</span> picking up his second win of the season. <span>Jonathan Quick</span> is expected to get the start on Wednesday in Dallas, against a Stars team he has owned in his career, with a 12-3-0 record and a 1.99 goals against average, and six consecutive wins dating back to October 2010. Quick on the season is 9-5-3 with a .930 save percentage this season.</p>
<p>Dallas got off to a hot start this season at 11-3-0, but suffered a five-game losing streak before finally getting a win on Monday against the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.coppernblue.com/">Edmonton Oilers</a>. The Stars are 7-3-0 at home this season, with one of those losses coming at the hands of the Kings, a 5-3 L.A. win on October 27.</p>
