<p>Ten batters in, the Angels were down 8-0 and Pineiro hit the showers. <span>Gio Gonzalez</span> pitched seven scoreless innings to pick up the win for Oakland, who won 9-1. The loss stopped a streak of eight straight series wins for the Angels. Their last series loss was June 10-12 against Kansas City.</p>

<p>Pineiro has won each of his last two starts, and hasn't lost since June 5. During that span of six starts, Pineiro has a rather ordinary 4.10 ERA, but the Angels have scored 42 runs of support and have won all six contests. On the season, Pineiro is 5-3 with a 3.90 ERA. He has started twice this season against the A's, allowing seven runs in 13 1/3 innings, and the Angels have lost both games.</p>
<p>Today is 1980s day in Oakland, with the first 15,000 fans in attendance <a target="_blank" href="http://losangeles.sbnation.com/los-angeles-angels/2011/7/16/2278820/angels-athletics-weekend-mc-hammer-bobblehead">receiving an MC Hammer bobblehead doll</a>.
