The reeling Dodgers look to avoid a four-game sweep at the hands of the Mets Thursday night at Dodger Stadium. Clayton Kershaw starts on the mound for the Dodgers, facing Dillon Gee for New York. They have lost five straight games for the second time in the last four weeks, and have lost 15 of their 21 games.

Kershaw, named to his first All-Star team on Sunday, is 8-4 on the season with a 3.23 ERA. He is tied with Justin Verlander for the major league lead with 138 strikeouts. Kershaw has struck out 10 or more batters in each of his last three starts, the longest streak since Hideo Nomo did it in four straight starts in 1995.

Gee is 8-2 with a 3.47 ERA on the season, and he allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings to the Dodgers on May 7, a game the Mets would eventually win 4-2. The Mets have beaten the Dodgers in five of six games this season, and their starters have a collective 3.17 ERA against the Dodgers this season, averaging 6.17 innings per start.
