Ted Lilly allowed two home runs and four runs in the second inning, as the Dodgers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 on Sunday in the series finale at Dodger Stadium. Xavier Nady and Ryan Roberts hit back-to-back home runs off Lilly in the second inning, continuing a bad trend in day games for Lilly. In four daytime starts this season, Lilly has allowed 18 runs in 21 innings, and the Dodgers have lost all four games.

Lilly rebounded after the poor second inning to last six innings, but given the Dodger offense, the damage was irreparable. "He's not overpowering, so he's going to get burned at times. Again, he's going to keep competing and keep us in the ball game," manager Don Mattingly said of his starting pitcher. "If he's not locating, it changes his game. It depends on him being able to throw the ball where he wants and being able to change speeds."

Ian Kennedy got the win for the Diamondbacks, completely shutting down the final seven batters of the Dodgers' batting order. Jamey Carroll and Aaron Miles combined for four hits in their first four at-bats, but Kennedy allowed only a walk to everyone else, pitching six innings. The Dodgers threatened in the ninth inning, with two runners on base off J.J. Putz. Pinch hitter Rod Barajas hit what appeared to be a game-tying home run off Putz, but the ball died at the warning track in center field, into the waiting arms of Chris Young.

Javy Guerra made his major league debut for the Dodgers, pitching a scoreless inning in the top of the ninth inning. In addition, Scott Elbert made his 2011 debut, striking out all three batters he faced in the eighth. The Dodgers scored just five runs in the three-game weekend series against Arizona. The Dodgers open a short two-game series Monday night against the Brewers, with Jon Garland facing off with Shaun Marcum in the opener.

Before Sunday's series finale with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Dodgers have placed right-handed relief pitcher Blake Hawksworth on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin. Hawksworth becomes the 11th Dodger to be placed on the disabled list this season. To take Hawksworth's spot on the roster, the Dodgers have recalled pitcher Javy Guerra from Double A Chattanooga.

Hawksworth injured his groin Tuesday night in Pittsburgh as he attempted to cover first base on a ground ball. The Dodgers waited a few days to see if the injury was severe enough for a disabled list stint, and Hawksworth threw off flat ground on Friday. However, when throwing off a mound in a bullpen session on Saturday, Hawksworth felt more discomfort in his groin, and the bullpen session was cut short.

The DL move is retroactive to May 11, and the earliest Hawksworth can be activated is Friday, May 27, when the Dodgers host the Florida Marlins. Manager Don Mattingly said on Sunday he didn't expect Hawksworth to miss anything longer than that. The Dodgers currently have seven players on the disabled list.

Guerra was drafted in the fourth round in 2004 by the Dodgers, and was pitching in relief for the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League. In 14 games with the Dodgers' Double A affliliate, Guerra had a 1.06 ERA with five walks and 15 strikeouts. This is the first trip to the majors for the 25-year old Guerra.

(Sports Network) - Ted Lilly hopes to duplicate Chad Billingsley's performance from Saturday, but would prefer a different outcome when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks conclude a three-game series at Dodger Stadium.

Billingsley was terrific on Saturday, as he allowed just one hit over eight innings. However, the one hit he surrendered eventually crossed the plate and that was all Arizona needed in the 1-0 win.

Josh Collmenter matched Billingsley (2-3) for the Diamondbacks, as he pitched six scoreless innings in his first major league start, while Melvin Mora drove in the game's only run with a sacrifice fly.

"It's tough to lose that one," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "They pitched well, we pitched well."

Collmenter (2-0) allowed just two hits and struck out three, getting the start after appearing in relief seven times this season. He retired the final 11 batters he faced after allowing a one-out double to Billingsley in the third inning.

Stephen Drew's double was the lone hit for the D-Backs as Arizona ended its five-game slide. Drew advanced to third on an errant pickoff attempt from Billingsley, then scored on Mora's fly ball.

"A big win for us. I never thought that would be the only hit for us, but it worked out. Josh (Collmenter) was unbelievable. He's sneaky and fun to watch," said Drew.

James Loney had two of the Dodgers' four hits as their three-game winning streak came to an end.

The loss also marked the first time in Los Angeles Dodgers history that the club dropped a game when allowing one or no hits. The last time a Dodgers team lost a game like that was on July 17, 1914, when the Brooklyn Dodgers lost to the Chicago Cubs, 3-2.

Lilly, meanwhile, has won three of his last four decisions following his win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday. Lilly gave up two runs and four hits over six innings in that one, as he improved to 3-3 on the year, while lowering his earned run average to 4.67.

The left-hander has faced the Diamondbacks nine times (seven starts) and is 3-4 against them with a 4.30 ERA.

Arizona will counter with right-hander Ian Kennedy, who is coming off a magnificent effort his last time out. Kennedy scattered four hits over eight scoreless innings on Tuesday in San Francisco, but did not factor in the decision of his team's 1-0 loss. He also struck out eight.

Kennedy, who is 3-1 with a 3.23 ERA on the year, lost his only other start to the Dodgers last season, as he yielded six runs and six hits in just 4 1/3 innings.

The Dodgers were 13-5 against the Diamondbacks last season, with a 7-2 record at Chavez Ravine.
