Tyler Chatwood, Hank Conger, Peter Bourjos, and Alexi Amarista are all products of the Angels' farm-system, and all had a hand in producing an Angels 8-3 win over Oakland Tuesday night in Anaheim. Conger, Bourjos, and Amarista -- batting 7, 8, and 9 in the Angels batting order -- combined to go 6 for eleven, while driving in 6 runs. The three also combined for 12 total bases, 6 coming on two Bourjos triples.

Chatwood (2-1, 3.86 ERA) won for the first time in Anaheim, but benefited by an Angels offense that pounded out 16 hits to give the rookie right-hander a 4-run cushion after 5 innings. Chatwood allowed 3 runs in 5.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 walks. With the 4 walks tonight, Chatwood has now handed-out 16 base on balls over 23.1 innings in four starts. The Angels bullpen went 3.1 innings and allowed just 2 base runners.

Appearing in his first major league game, Amarista drove in the first two runs Angel runs on his first big-league swing. Amarista drove the third pitch thrown to him to the gap scoring Kendrick and Bourjos. He added a sacrifice fly in the 8th giving him 3 RBI in his first 3 major league at-bats.

Alberto Callaspo was the lone Angel to go hitless as Torii Hunter, Kendrick, and Bourjos each collected three hits, while Aybar and Conger pitched in two each.

The Los Angeles Angels will face the Oakland Athletic in the second game of their 3-game series Tuesday night in Anaheim. After taking the first game 5-0 behind Jered Weaver's second consecutive complete-game victory, the Angels (13-10) look to rookie right-hander Tyler Chatwood to help salvage the home stand. With 4 straight loses to Boston prior to Monday's win, the Halos would like to return to their winning-ways while Chatwood (1-1, 3.50 ERA) would like his first home win.

In his last start, Chatwood went 6 innings against the Red Sox, giving up 2 runs, but also issuing 5 walks. Facing the Angels will be right-hander Brandon McCarthy (1-1, 2.10 ERA). McCarthy pitched well enough to win his last start had he been given any run support, but ended up taking the 1-0 loss after going the distance in Seattle. In that game, he allowed just the one run on 4 hits, and striking out six.

Angel Hot Hitters:
Peter Bourjos - 10 for his last 24, 1 HR, 5 runs scored

Angel Cold Hitters:
Mark Trumbo - 1 for his last 20, .050
Torii Hunter - 2 for his last 19, .105

Game time is 7:05 (Pacific) and will be show in Prime. For more Angels news, be sure to check out Halo Heaven.
