Stuckey finished with 17 points and six assists for the Pistons, who rebounded from Tuesday's loss at Portland to win for the third time in four games. Richard Hamilton filled the stat sheet with 12 points, five steals and five rebounds.

Eric Gordon had a season-high 28 points to pace the Clippers, who lost for the fifth straight time and fell to 1-9 overall. Blake Griffin finished with 18 points and 18 boards. Eric Bledsoe began the extra period with a jumper for Los Angeles, but Jason Maxiell followed with two free throws.

Then, after a series of missed shots, Stuckey got a finger-roll layup to drop with 2:53 on the clock. Another cluster of misses led to Stuckey's layup with 1:30 remaining, giving the Pistons a key two-possession edge, 109-105. At the other end, Rasual Butler hoisted a three from the right wing. It looked good and started to drop after hitting the far side of the rim, but caromed off the other side and bounced out.

Maxiell then made two more foul shots with 1:11 to go, and Detroit held on. It was a one-possession game for most of the fourth quarter, though Gordon scored six consecutive points to give the Clippers a 95-91 edge with 2:55 to play. But Villanueva countered with a three from the left corner to keep the game tight. He sank another with 1:59 left to make it a 97-97 game.

Inside the final minute with the contest tied again, Butler stepped behind the three-point line to gain separation, accepted a pass from Gordon and drilled the shot for a 102-99 Los Angeles edge. Tayshaun Prince drove the left side for a quick layup at the other end, making it a one-point game with 25.5 to play.

After Ryan Gomes made 1-of-2 from the line, Stuckey was fouled on his shot from the paint and made both attempts. That knotted the contest, 103-103, with 11.6 seconds left.

A timeout advanced the ball so the Clippers could run something from their halfcourt set, but Gordon lost the ball. Hamilton recovered with about five seconds left and raced up the court, but his jumper bounced off the front of the rim as the game went to overtime.

Detroit made half its shots in the first quarter en route to a 26-19 advantage. Villanueva made all four of his shots in the second quarter, including three from beyond the arc, and finished with 12 points. The effort helped the Pistons take a 57-47 lead into the break.

But the Clippers clamped down on defense in the third, limiting the Pistons to 3-of-17 shooting. It helped Los Angeles erase the deficit, as it was a 74-74 game moving to the fourth.

(Sports Network) - A pair of dismal teams get together tonight in the City of Angels, where the inept Los Angeles Clippers play host to the lowly Detroit Pistons from Staples Center. The Clippers, who will also host New Jersey on the quick homestand, dropped all four games on their recent road trip against Western Conference teams, including Wednesday's 107-95 setback at San Antonio.

Rasual Butler scored 18 points and Craig Smith provided 15 off the bench for Los Angeles, which has lost 18 in a row to the Spurs and fell to 1-8 on the season. Ryan Gomes, Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe all had 11 points in defeat.

"Our spacing has to be a little bit better," Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro said. Clippers guard Eric Gordon (shoulder) and center DeAndre Jordan (knee) are both listed as questionable for tonight's game.

Detroit will continue its four-game western road trip this evening and had a two-game winning streak stopped with Tuesday's 100-78 loss at Portland.

Rodney Stuckey finished with 17 points and Austin Daye added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Pistons, who had won two straight following an 0-5 start to the 2010-11 season. Tayshaun Prince was the only other scorer in double figures with 10 points.

"We didn't start off the right way in the third period," Pistons head coach John Kuester said. "You have to continually realize that when you're on the road you're mental toughness has to be paramount."

The Pistons had 17 turnovers and were outrebounded by a 45-33 margin. They are 0-4 away from The Palace this season and will also visit Sacramento and Golden State on the road swing. Detroit is off to its worst start away from home since dropping its first six in 1995-96.

Los Angeles won both meetings with the Pistons a season ago, but Detroit is 14-3 in the previous 17 matchups between the teams. The Pistons have won 10 of their last 14 at the Clippers.
