Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - John Danks took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and Paul Konerko knocked in the lone run as the Chicago White Sox bested the Angels, 1-0, in the finale of a four-game set from U.S. Cellular Field.

Danks (8-7) eventually recorded his first complete-game shutout of the season by yielding only a pair of hits while fanning seven.

Alex Rios collected two hits for the White Sox, who swept the Angels in a four-game matchup on Chicago's south side for the first time since 1983 and have won six of their last seven.

Reggie Willits and Howie Kendrick picked up the lone hits -- both in the seventh -- for the Angels, who have dropped six of seven.

Ervin Santana (8-7) was the hard-luck loser despite allowing just three hits and a run over eight full frames.

(Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox try to complete a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim when the teams conclude their set today with an afternoon finale at U.S. Cellular Field.

Wednesday's matchup was delayed by 2 hours and 20 minutes and ended after 1:00 am (et). When it was all said and done, though, Brent Lillibridge and Paul Konerko each drove in a pair of runs and the White Sox had picked up 5-2 win.

Freddy Garcia continued to dominate the Angels, as he allowed just one unearned run on five hits and two walks while fanning six in as many innings. The veteran right-hander improved to 15-3 with a 2.45 earned-run average in 25 lifetime starts against the Halos.

It was the fourth straight win for the White Sox, who have won 21 of 26 and will be looking to complete a four-game sweep of the Angels at home for the first time since September 1983.

Joe Saunders (6-9) was saddled with the loss after surrendering five runs on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings for the Angels, who have dropped five of six overall.

"He used a lot early in the game to squelch some rallies," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said of Saunders. "As the game went later those guys made some adjustments. Obviously they got some big hits in the sixth inning."

Getting the ball for the Angels tonight will be righty Ervin Santana, who has lost three of his last five starts. Santana was charged with the loss on Saturday against Kansas City, but pitched into the ninth inning and surrendered four runs and seven hits in 8 1/3 frames. He had pitched seven scoreless innings in that one before running into trouble and fell to 8-6 to go along with a 3.95 ERA.

Santana beat the White Sox back on May 20 and is 4-2 against them with a 4.30 ERA in 10 games, nine of which have been starts.

Chicago will counter with lefty John Danks, who is 7-7 with a 3.58 ERA. Danks lost his second straight start on Saturday in Texas, surrendering two runs and four hits in six innings.

Danks has struggled against the Angels over the course of his young career. He lost to them back on May 19 and is just 1-3 with a 3.16 ERA in seven starts against Anaheim.

The Angels swept the White Sox in a brief two-game set earlier in the year.
