<p>According to Mike Bresnahan and Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the <a href="http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-lakers-derek-fisher-20100703,0,4347278.story" target="new">reports of an offer to Mike Miller were not true</a>:</p>

<p>The offer to Miller was presumed to be for the mid-level exception, part of which will be used <a href="http://losangeles.sbnation.com/2010/7/2/1550132/lakers-sign-steve-blake-four-years" target="new">to sign Steve Blake</a>.</p>

<p>The <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/nba/teams/LAL">Lakers</a> have made a contract offer to forward <span>Mike Miller</span>, who spent last season with the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/nba/teams/WAS">Washington Wizards</a>. Per Jeff Goodman of Fox Sports, via <a target="_blank" href="http://twitter.com/goodmanonfox/status/17535044214">Twitter</a>:</p>

<p>The Lakers have a mid-level exception this offseason, which is worth $5.8 million during the first year of the contract.</p>
<p>Miller, 30, shot 50.1% from the field and 48.0% from three-point range in 2009-2010, the latter a career high. For his career, Miller is a 46.4% shooter, including 40.5% from three-point range. The Lakers were 23rd in the NBA last season in three-point field goal percentage, hitting 34.1% of their shots from beyond the arc. Miller has averaged over six rebounds per game in each of the past three seasons.</p>
<p>Miller was a teammate of <span>Pau Gasol</span> in Memphis from 2003 to 2008.</p>
