Two teams making their third consecutive appearance in a BCS bowl will square off in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day, when the Stanford Cardinal take on the Wisconsin Badgers in Pasadena. But one team is receiving the support of linemakers, as the Cardinal has been installed as six-point favorites in the bowl.
Led by quarterback Josh Nunes and running back Stepfan Taylor, the Cardinal were among the hottest teams in the country as the season ended, rounding out their season with four consecutive victories over ranked teams, including the then-No. 2 Oregon Ducks in a huge upset victory.
The Badgers were not expected to make the return trip to Pasadena in 2013, but after taking advantage of the ineligibility of both the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Badgers gained a bid to the Big Ten Championship Game, where they upset the Nebraska Cornhuskers in convincing fashion. Despite that result, however, the Badgers are still significant underdogs in the classic bowl game.
