USA Basketball 2012: Roster Announcement Televised On Saturday

On Saturday, USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo and men's national team head coach Mike Krzyzewski will officially announce the roster for the team of superstars that will be heading to London in late July to represent the United States in the 2012 Olympics.

The concept of the "Dream Team" began in 1992 with the first men's Olympic team comprised mainly of NBA stars. The 2012 team will likely be the last such assembly of NBA superstars, as the league seems more interested in forming a profitable World Cup of Basketball going forward.

Regardless, this year's team should be populated with Southern California talent, with Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin being the most likely to be selected from the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers.

The announcement of the roster will be televised on TNT on Saturday and will begin at 4:00 p.m. PT.
