Steve Nash To Lakers: Nash Reportedly Pressing For Grant Hill To Join Him In Los Angeles

The Lakers have acquired the services of Steve Nash in a sign-and-trade deal with the Phoenix Suns, giving up four draft picks in exchange for the veteran point guard. Nash isn't wasting any time, as reports quickly surfaced that Nash was pushing for long-time teammate Grant Hill to join him in Los Angeles. As ESPN.com reported:

Sources told ESPN.com that Nash will try to convince longtime teammate Grant Hill, one of his closest friends in the game, to join him with the Lakers. ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported over the weekend the Lakers were one of four teams (along with Toronto, New York and Phoenix) in the running for Hill after the 39-year-old's recent trip to Germany to undergo the same platelet-enrichment treatment on his knee that Bryant credited for his rejuvenated knee last season.

Hill's condition following that treatment is unknown, but his 2011-2012 season was a clear step down from career averages. Hill saw action in 49 games in the 2011-2012 season, averaging 10.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game versus career averages of 17.1 points and 6.1 rebounds.
