Dwight Howard Trade Rumors: Lakers, Hawks, Nets In The Mix

The Dwight Howard race continues. With Howard wanting out of Orlando, there's a long list of teams looking to lock him up. Who will claim him?

Three teams seem to be on top of the race when it comes to discussing a deal for Howard. There's the team he wants to go to (the Brooklyn Nets), the team he probably doesn't want to be with but would end up learning to deal with it (the Los Angeles Lakers), and the team that he'd probably end up leaving after a year-long rental.

Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated has more on the situation.

A source close to the situation confirmed reports that Howard requested a trade yet again Friday, telling new Magic general manager Rob Hennigan that he wanted out during a meeting in Los Angeles. The source said the Magic are open for business on trade calls now, and various reports indicate that talks are heating up with the Hawks, Lakers and Nets.

Almost any trade with the Lakers would have to involve their own prized center Andrew Bynum. Is it a deal the Lakers are willing to make?
