According to a report from Yahoo! Sports NBA insider Marc J. Spears, the Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a deal with veteran big man Antawn Jamison to a one-year deal.
Per Marc J. Spears on Twitter:
Lakers have agreed to a one-year deal paying the minimum with free agent forward Antawn Jamison, a source tells Yahoo! Sports.— Marc J. Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) July 18, 2012
Jamison, the 36-year old journeyman played with the Cleveland Cavaliers the last two seasons, averaging 17.2 points and 6.3 rebounds a game during the 2011-12 campaign, starting all 65 regular season games for the Cavs. He'll be joining a rebuilding bench mob as well as serve as some back up when, and , or if a deal for Andrew Bynum or Dwight Howard goes down.
The Cavs are seen as a likely third-party to a Dwight Howard deal with the Magic, though it remains unclear whether this deal is related to that at all.
