The Los Angeles Lakers have some needs to clear up going into next season, and one of them is fixing things on the perimeter. L.A. doesn't have enough strength outside to complement Kobe Bryant, who was often left trying to bail his teammates on the outside when the paint was packed against Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum.
So it makes sense for Los Angeles to try and target top wing talent as well as another big man. Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times files this report which has the Lakers targeting Nick Young and Brandon Rush, two quality shooters.
Additionally, the Lakers are pursuing Lou Amundson. If the Lakers don't hang onto either Jordan Hill (or even if they do get him), getting a utility big like Amundson to back up Bynum would really help keep Los Angeles's front court depth going strong into the near future.
