On Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers visited the Sacramento Kings in the final regular-season game of the year. The Lakers, having already secured a comfortable playoff berth, opted to sit their three most valuable contributors -- Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum. As a result, the Kings rolled to an easy victory by a final score of 113-96.
The Kings outscored the Lakers 35-24 in the first round and proceeded to outscore the Los Angeles B-team in every quarter thereafter.
The Lakers, although being outplayed without their "Big Three," received some solid games from four different players who saw a lot more playing time and significantly more shot opportunities than usual. Josh McRoberts had 16 points and nine rebounds in 37 minutes on the floor. Ramon Sessions and Devin Ebanks put up 14 points each and Troy Murphy contributed 12.
DeMarcus Cousins put together a monster double-double for the Kings, finishing with 23 points and 19 rebounds.
