The Los Angeles Lakers won a pair of home games over the weekend, and hold a game-and-a-half lead over the crosstown rival Clippers for the Pacific Division lead. But the Lakers have a busy week ahead with a pair of back-to-back sets, including a Wednesday showdown against the Clippers. Here is a look at the weekly schedule for the Lakers:
Tuesday - New Jersey at Lakers (7:30 p.m., Fox Sports West): The good thing for the Lakers this week is that even though they play four games in a five-day stretch, the first three are at Staples Center, where the Lakers have beaten the Nets three straight times. The Lakers have won their last seven contests against New Jersey.
Wednesday - Lakers at Clippers (7:30 p.m., KCAL, Prime Ticket, ESPN): This is the most important game of the week for both teams, as not only are they separated by just one game in the loss column, this game will also determine the tiebreaker as they have split two previous meetings this season.
Friday - Houston at Lakers (7:30 p.m., Fox Sports West): The Lakers and Rockets have split two games this season, with each team winning at home.
Saturday - Lakers at Phoenix (7:00 p.m., KCAL): The Lakers have beaten the Suns twice this season in Los Angeles, but lost 102-90 in Arizona on February 19. The Lakers are 11-15 on the road this season.
