After the first half of play, the Los Angeles Lakers lead the New Orleans Hornets by a score of 43-39 at home in the STAPLES Center. The Lakers are looking to bounce back from a Thursday night loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Hornets are trying to avoid losing four of their last five games.
The Lakers were led by Pau Gasol, who scored 14 points in the first half. Ramon Sessions added eight and Steve Blake came off the bench to add nine points. Kobe Bryant, however, has been held completely scoreless in the first half. The Hornets were led by forward Jason Smith, who scored seven points in the first half. Jarrett Jack added six as did Greivis Vasquez and Xavier Henry, who both came off the bench.
The Lakers are definitely looking to get Bryant more involved in the second half as they are definitely looking to avoid giving up the top spot in the Western Conference's Pacific Division to the Clippers, who are nipping at their heals.
