Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant sat out practice on Thursday in order to receive treatment on his neck.

This comes a day after Bryant almost put up a triple-double against the Minnesota Timberwolves while dealing with neck pain and wearing a plastic mask to protect his nose.

Coach Mike Brown told reporters that he didn't talk with Bryant about his condition but no one expects him to miss Friday's game against the Sacramento Kings.

Here's video of Mike Brown talking about Kobe via the LA Times:

"I don't know if there's going to be anything that he does now that surprises me," Brown said. "In a way it's good and in a way it's sad. It's sad because he had a terrific performance last night especially with everything that happened. ... You try not to take it for granted because he's special with what he does out on the floor. In the same breath, he is Kobe. I'm kind of contradicting myself."

Bryant received clearance to play against Minnesota after his fourth visit to neurologist Vern Williams, an hour before the game. He put on bandages on his lower neck after the game.
