Kobe Bryant Surpasses Shaquille O'Neal On All Time Scoring List

With five minutes left in the first half, Kobe Bryant sunk a two point shot to surpass Shaquille O'Neal and take the fifth spot on the NBA All-Time scoring list. The game was stopped momentarily, as Kobe Bryant and Derrick Fisher hugged. Bryant is now chasing Wilt Chamberlain on the all time list.

Last year, Kobe Bryant moved past Moses Malone, Elvin Hayes, Hakeen Olajuwon, Oscar Robinson, Dominique Wilkins, and John Havlicek. Kobe Bryant now has 28,597 points in his career. Among the top six all time NBA scorers, five have worn a Laker uniform.

Bryant has been steadily moving up the all-time scoring chart the last few seasons. 2009-10 saw Kobe Bryant pass Jerry West, Reggie Miller, Patrick Ewing, and Allen Iverson. His dunk to pass Jerry West on Feb 1st, 2010 made Kobe Bryant the high scorer in Laker franchise history.
