The NBA announced the starters for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game on Thursday afternoon, to be played in Orlando on Sunday, February 26. Here are the starters for the Eastern Conference, led by a hometown favorite (but for how long?).
Eastern Conference Starters
Center - Dwight Howard, Orlando Magic: making his sixth straight All-Star appearance and fifth straight start, the Orlando center has been the subject of trade rumors for months, in the final season of his contract
Forward - LeBron James, Miami Heat: making his eighth consecutive All-Star start, James is currently the front runner for NBA Most Valuable Player, averaging 29.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game this season for the Heat
Forward - Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks: fifth All-Star appearance for Anthony and fourth start, and his first in New York.
Guard - Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls: the reigning MVP will make his third consecutive All-Star appearance and second start
Guard -Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat: the eight All-Star appearance and seventh start for Wade
