Lakers Vs. Suns: Kobe And Lakers Cool In The Valley Of The Sun, Trail 63-40

The Los Angeles Lakers have been embarrassed on the road in Phoenix, as the Phoenix Suns used a 14-2 run and an abundance of energy to go up 63-40 at halftime in the US Airways Center. Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum both have 12 points, but the Suns have four players in double digits as they have quashed any sign of life from the Lakers.

The Lakers have only gotten nine points from their bench, going a shocking 4-13 from the field. The reserves are also 0-3 from behind the arc. The team is playing as if Kobe Bryant is having the type of game which can carry them to victory, but Kobe Bryant is having that type of game.

Paul Gasol did chip in for seven points and six assists, as he tries to continue his double double streak. The Lakers shot 42% (17-41) from the field, but 0% (0-6) from behind the three point line.

The Suns have dropped in five from behind the arc, and a staggering 18 points from the charity stripe. The Lakers racked up 12 personal fouls, and turned the ball over 11 times.

Grant Hill leads Phoenix with 13 points, while the Suns are shooting 44% (20-45) from the field. Steve Nash has 10 assists to go with his four points, and has limited himself to just two turnovers.

The Suns out-rebounded the Lakers 27-22.
