The Los Angeles Lakers end their annual Grammy road trip on Sunday morning against the Toronto Raptors at Air Canada Centre. The Lakers are 2-3 so far on the trip and need a win to avoid a losing record on the trip, something that has happened just three times in 12 Grammy trips.
The Lakers have had a long road trip in late January and/or early February in 12 of the last 13 years, as the Staples Center has hosted the Grammy's every year but 2003, when the event was held at Madison Square Garden in New York. Here are the Lakers' records on their Grammy road trips each year:
- 2012: 2-3, with one game pending
- 2011: 4-3
- 2010: 5-3
- 2009: 6-0
- 2008: 7-2
- 2007: 3-5
- 2006: 2-5
- 2005: 1-4
- 2004: 4-3
- 2002: 4-1
- 2001: 4-2
- 2000: 6-0
The Lakers have won at least 50 games in 10 of the last 13 seasons, with the only three years they failed to do so from 2005-2007, when the Lakers finished with losing records on their Grammy road trip each year.
