When the Los Angeles Lakers take on the New York Knicks Friday night at Madison Square Garden, it will be the Lake Show's first taste of the newest NBA craze; Linsanity.
And with their first look at the upgraded Jeremy Lin 2.0, Kobe Bryant explains his feelings about the situation. I'll give you a hint, it's somewhat akin to, 'who?'
Obviously Kobe isn't watching a lot of SportsCenter, or reading a lot of blogs, so I doubt he's been part of the Lin fervor over the past week or so. Plus, Kobe doesn't sugarcoat anything, ever, so he certainly isn't going to start now. Just look at some of his quotes:
"I know who he is, but I don't really know what's going on too much with him. I don't even know what he's done. Like, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I'll take a look at it tonight though."
When asked again about Lin, Kobe reiterated his ignorance about him:
Who is this kid? I've heard about him and stuff like that, but what's he been doing? Is he getting like triple doubles or some [stuff]? He's averaging 28 and eight? No [stuff]. If he's playing well, I'll just have to deal with him."
Would Kobe choose to guard Lin?
"Jesus Christ. Let's not get ahead of ourselves."
It's going to take a lot more than three nice games to get some respect form the Black Mamba. Let's see how both Kobe and Lin fare this evening.
