Los Angeles can't get enough D'Antoni action, as the team announced Sunday that it has hired Mike's brother Dan as an assistant.

The Los Angeles Lakers are apparently keeping it in the family, with the team announcing the hiring of Mike D'Antoni's older brother Dan as an assistant coach Sunday.

Dan D'Antoni has followed his brother to all his stops in the NBA, spending the past four seasons as a New York Knicks assistant after being on the Suns staff for Mike's final three years in Phoenix.

Before that, Dan D'Antoni spent the first three decades as the head coach of Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, S.C., compiling over 500 wins in the process. D'Antoni also led the 1968-1969 Marshall team in scoring at 17.5 PPG before going on to spend the 1970-1971 season as an assistant coach on that program's staff. D'Antoni was a 1990 inductee to the Marshall University Athletics Hall of Fame because of his efforts.

Both D'Antonis are expected to be on the bench for the first time this Tuesday when the Brooklyn Nets pay a visit to the Staples Center.
